I really tried to understand what was going on and why I should really care; surely there was some depth in here, but never found it. The characters are whiney, too much woe-is-me and basically I ended up not liking any of them. Wife walks in on husband kissing her younger sister and decides to end her marriage - no talk, no discussions, no counseling, that's it, marriage over. Little sister goes back to school and just blows it off and doesn't understand why her sister is mad just because she kissed the husband. Mother sticks up for husband and sister and tells her older daughter to just forget it. Everybody is basically self-centered and doesn't do anything with any common sense. If my mother sided with my husband and sister and treated me like I was the bad guy, why would I go to her house for Christmas? Didn't take too long to read but I stuck with it hoping for someone in the family to come to their senses; didn't happen.Product details

"Believe In Me" by Mishael Austin Witty was a nice contemporary romantic novella in that there was plenty of 'tension, romance and characters that were likable, well developed and believable.' The story is of a marriage that is almost over.
"It's Christmas again, and Trina's parents allow their son-in-law to come stay with them for the holidays. When Trina arrives and is told that Walt will be staying, she is livid." So Trina leave her parents home and take refuge at her friends home and guess who comes there... a old boyfriend.... now this story will take off.
I know you are wondering what will happen next ...well you will have to pick up "Believe In Me" to read it for yourself. You may be somewhat surprised in the ending. If you are looking for a short good romantic story...you may enjoy "Believe In Me" and I would recommend this one to you.
I have just started reading this story. I read the reviews and it looked like it could be interesting so I thought I would give it a shot. However, I am a little put out that it seems like her mother is down playing the fact that her younger sister was caught last year in a lip lock with her husband. Little sister who always has to have everything of big sister's. In this case, her husband. Mom is trying to get everybody back together. The mother seems to be down playing the whole thing, not that big of a deal, the sister is young, blah, blah, blah. R U KIDDING ME? The husband seems to accept responsibility for his actions but of course, he has a good excuse. NO THERE IS NO GOOD EXCUSE. He is having problems so to solve them he kisses the sister! Why not try to talk to your wife and explain how you are feeling?
Our heroine seems to be the bad guy because she won't talk to the sister and is divorcing the husband. Really, she is at fault for all of this?
I am so pissed at this family that I am trying to see where the sweet romance is going to come in. Unlike Steve Harvey, I believe once a cheater always a cheater. Besides, the mother sets her up, has her drive 5 hrs. for Christmas without telling her the soon to be ex-husband is also staying for the holidays! REALLY, you would do that to your own kid? That would be one ex-mother for me!
I'll keep reading, if I can stomach these characters and see if my opinion changes. Right now, I am not liking this story. Later...well, it only got worse. I have never met so many stupid characters, most acted like 10 year olds. The heroine was stupid, stupid, stupid. I couldn't believe her actions. Her mother, her mother's best friend, the stupid jerk from high school (10 yrs. ago) that was her sweetheart then, you name it. All just dumb. Even the dialogue was bad. We get a full description of a coffee cup. What difference did that make to anything? OH spoiler alert!!! The reason the husband let the sister kiss him was because he was lonely! Here is a tip! Get a dog. This book ruined my afternoon. It was really bad in every sense of the word. What a waste of time.
A short sweet romance about a marriage gone wrong because of betrayal, mistrust, temptation and ultimately forgiveness. The story didn't wow me because it was hard to believe that someone would walk out of a marriage with barely a glance back, no talking, no counselling, nothing for a year, until Trina, the main character goes back home for Christmas. But all in all a decent, pleasant read that I did enjoy.
This story is beyond stupid. It just wasted my time. It made it seemed that it was Trina's fault and her husband was a saint. He was flirting with Tammy that night so in a sense he encouraged that kiss. Everyone was pushing Trina to forgive her husband instead of being with her and supporting her even if there is Reconciliation at the end. I am not recommending this book. Not worth it!
I guess if you are looking for a book with hardly any actual story and very one-dimensional characters, this is the book for you! Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. I got it a long while back and finally decided to read it. I read it in a matter of an hour and was still waiting for the story to draw me in by the end. Not to mention the boring characters. I didn't feel for any of them. Trina was a big baby, so was Walt, Tammy was a b* who we only heard about until the very end, Kurt was a guy who just wanted to sleep with Trina, and Mim was just a character there to tell Trina she was wrong. There really weren't any other characters. You would think with so few, you would be able to develop them. And I think the author actually forgot her characters' names at one point because Walt called Trina Tammy when he was talking to Tammy about finding Trina...
Not to mention the SUPER OFFENSIVE part about Walt & Trina trying to have a baby. "After six months, the conception attempts proved t o be unsuccessful, and Trina gave up all hope of getting pregnant." (loc 464). I have been trying to conceive for a VERY long time. If you really want a baby, six months is nothing. How dare she!!
I won't read another by this author again. And I don't recommend that you read this book.
